Student Engagement Officer

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated communicator for our role as a Student Engagement Officer, who must provide information, advice and support all aspects of student engagement with committee team, educational institutions and industry. You will be the one to ensure that all student engagement operations are successful in meeting the goals set by management.

Job Responsibilities
  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively as an individual and team member along with our elected committee team to co-ordinate IASA's academic representation nationwide, including 2nd & 3rd level institutions
  • Responsible for administrative support, recruitment induction and assisting in the development of IASA's representative function, including policy and campaigns activity
  • Developing relationship contacts with educational institutions i.e. careers officers, head of departments, professors etc
  • Producing research, reports that will support the association strategy
  • Aid in the creation of career base educational material to be distributed to IASA’s subscribed members (Monthly newsletters and our student handbook)
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of policy issues affecting the Higher Education Sector / Aviation Policies
  • Responsible for ensuring an adequent number of students attend IASA’s various events

Marketing Officer

We are looking for a passionate Marketing Officer to plan and oversee the association’s marketing activities and campaigns. You will be the one to ensure that all marketing operations are successful in meeting the goals set by management. A successful Marketing officer must have great enthusiasm for all things marketing and great knowledge of relevant techniques and principles. The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator and will have experience in managing different marketing ventures. To be considered for this position, it would be an advantage to have a bachelor's degree in business, marketing or communications or relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively as an individual and team member along with our elected committee team to co-ordinate IASA's academic representation nationwide
  • Identify and analyse an organisation's strengths and weaknesses, and respond to opportunities and threats in the marketing environment
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies by selecting, segmenting and targeting markets, and promoting products and services to those markets
  • Support the head of marketing in overseeing the department’s operations
  • Plan advertising and promotional campaigns for products or services on a variety of media (social, print etc.)
  • Prepare content for the publication of marketing material and oversee distribution
  • Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the association’s message to their existing audience.
  • Liaise closely with the other teams to organise, attend and promote IASA events to raise brand awareness

Events Officer

We are looking for a passionate Events Officer to plan and oversee the association’s events throughout the year. You will be the one to take the lead in the organisation of high-profile events including our Symposium, Career Expo, Career Slingshots and JAN Series events. A successful Events officer must have great enthusiasm for all organising all aspects of an event. The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator and will have experience in managing different events.

Job Responsibilities
  • Liaise with internal departments to create event proposals, secure speakers and develop the event agenda
  • Responsible for the sourcing & evaluation of venues
  • Ensure marketing material for events is ordered and delivered on time
  • Take a lead role in the generation & management of event budgets alongside the Treasurer
  • Manage the development of processes and structures for printed materials working with the in-house editorial and design team (flyers, programmes etc)
  • Work towards meeting targets & working towards tight deadlines
  • Act as the main POC for all event related queries (operations, catering etc)
  • Manage event speakers, providing briefings, support and assistance
  • Oversee event staging, delegate management, follow-up and post-event analysis, and liaising with all stakeholders.
  • Keep internal departments up to date on event activities including progress with speakers and delegates, updates on sales, logistics and on the day requirements
  • Manage events on the day including set-up and breakdown
  • Build strong relationships with sponsors, industry leaders and delegates
  • Research opportunities within the organisation where it may be possible to develop existing or new events in order to grow the events calendar

IT Officer

We are looking for a dedicated and IT Officer, who must provide information, advice and support about all aspects of IT to the committee team. You will be the one to ensure that all IT changes and campaigns are successful in meeting the goals set by management. The ideal candidate will be studying or have completed a bachelors degree in computer science, or have experience with a CMS and HTML/CSS.

Job Responsibilities
  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively as an individual and team member along with our elected committee team to co-ordinate IASA's academic representation nationwide
  • Identify opportunities to improve the organisation's IT services, including our website, and social media accounts
  • Use HTML and CSS to create attractive new webpages and update our current web pages with new content
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategies on the website in order to increase website traffic and promote events and services
  • Support the head of marketing in overseeing the department’s operations
  • Publish blog posts on the website
